Basics

Thin fibers of glass
Can be used for Composite Materials or Optical Fiber
Also if made into Glass Wool it can be used for Insulation
"Although not as rigid as carbon fiber, it is much cheaper and significantly less brittle when used in composites." (need to double check this)
Can be in the following forms:
- Continous Fiber Reinforcement
- Chopped Fiber Reinforcement
- Fiber Matting Reinforcement (Essentially a Non-Woven Fabric )
- Fiber Textile Reinforcement (may need to be changed to fabric? essentially woven with longer fibers than the matting, also thinner?)
