Basics
- A solid, mostly carbon, material resulting from the processing of Crude Oil
- Called "Coking" (delyaed coking?)
- Often called PetCoke
- NOT RENEWABLE
Health Hazards
- It is a major Pollutant due to [[Heavy Metal )? content, mainly vanadium
- Granted this is due to the Oil/Tar Sands it is currently made from?
- It also was stored in open piles...near houses...for...increased profit
- This caused it to form Atmospheric Particulate Matter
Bio-Petcoke
- Would this be of any use?
- Coker Unit for technical aspects
- It seems that given the (near) lack of heavy metals in Bio-Crude there shouldn't be too much of an issue
- Similar to Charcoal vs Coal
- ESPECIALLY if using Best Available Technology WITH a clean feedstock
Internal Links
- Charcoal
- Coker Unit
- Blast Furnace
- Direct Reduced Iron
- Hydrogen Reduction Smelting
- Lime Kiln
- Coke (Fuel)
