Our Theory of Change is predicated on a basic mental model:
- Freedom and Self-Determination in democratic societies relies on material security.
- The more autonomous that people are in material security, the more liberty they have
- This is not a libertarian concept, but a collaboritarian concept that accepts that we are all in it together, and that open collaboration is a way to get there. This is embodied in our Vision statement.
- This approach is a fundamental solution to most social, economic, and environmental issues. We start with the environment, and are exploring ways in which rocks, sunlight, plants, soil, and water provide the modern technosphere in a Regenerative way.
This is part of the age-old materialism vs idealism debate. It takes both sides. OSE's approach is to start with idealism internally, and drive external change through materialism. Comments welcome.
