Ground-mounted generator. Only hydraulics on top, for lifetime maintenance.
Structure is used to lift and lower the head to height using Space Frames, with the head asssembly riding to the top with the tower as rail.
Un-guyed, space frame tower - 60'-100' high, or 3-5 sections

ANew Wind Turbines makes 15, 200, and 1500 kW VAWTs [2]. The 1500 kW version is apparently the largest VAWT available in the world.
