Basics
- Often Abbreviated as DFAM
- The practice of optimizing a design to work well with Additive Manufacturing ( 3D Printing )
- Reducing Overhangs is one of the main principles
- How to print a large object in sections and optimizing for that can be another aspect
By Process
FDM
- Mainly Reducing Overhangs
LVP
- Designing in Drain Holes for Uncured Resin (if not using 100% Infill ) is needed
EBM
- Heat Sinks must be attached to the part (Akin to Sprues in Injection Molding]] or Investment Casting etc)
