- Video Screen Capture - Go to "Ubuntu-Software-Centre" and install "XVidCap Screen Capture" for capturing work in Video format
- Kdenlive - nonlinear video editor. We presently use this at Factor e Farm
- Avidemux - rapid clip joining and cutting to prepare material for Kdenlive
- Gnome-screenshot - takes screenshots in Ubuntu 10.04
- GIMP - image format converter, editor
- Inkscape -
Audio
Diagrams, Charts, Mindmaps
- CMapTools - have not gotten this to work on Ubuntu 10.04
