Please check this out – the folks at Open Source Ecology need help on their Civilization Starter Kit. Right now, they are trying to put a roof over their own heads – but interestingly – using some advanced, open source techniques. They are proposing hybrid Compressed Earth Brick/Strawbale construction and lumber – all from their open source tractor, CEB press, and sawmill.
