For the development process of the GVCS to become autonomous, one needs to understand its direction.
The goal of applying the OSE Specifications to product design is to align the direction of multiple stakeholders.

The OSE Specification Review is a translation of OSE Specifications for the specific needs of a given product. This is about taking OSE Specifications, and specifying point by point how they can apply to the design project at hand. The product Requirements are determined by the Product Ecology, the Genealogy, and the OSE Specification Review. On top of this, the OSE Design Framework is applied in product design, which includes:

  1. Design for creating a post-scarcity village infrastructure for 150 people
  2. The infrastructure enables modern civilization to happen (industrial age from scrap steel resources and information technology from smelting processes including extraction of aluminum from clay and smelting of silicon from sand)
  3. This is possible wherever rocks, sunlight, plants, soil, and water are available.
  4. Design of such a community is open source, thereby allowing transparency, integrity, and openness to be a cultural norm
  5. Community design promotes a transition to people learning to become Integrated Humans according to the principles of Self-Determination Theory.
  6. A fundamental approach to solving pressing world issues. This means that we think about what a good system would look like from scratch, instead of trying to fit solutions to current political, economic, social, or ecological constraints.

The goal of applying the OSE Specifications to product design is to align the direction of multiple stakeholders.
