  • The activities that you love to do and do best that produce greater results with less time and effort, and maximize your satisfaction, energy, and motivation.

The claim is that one must find their unique ability and spend a maximum of time in their business doing that activity. As opposed to other activities:

  • Excellent activities - the activities for which you have superior skill, a great reputation, and a sense of teamwork - but no passion.
  • Competent activities - the activities at which you are merely adequate, reaching only minimum standards.
  • Incompetent activities - the activities where you experience failure and stress because you don't have the required skill.

Exercise

List the activities that you do on a daily, weekly, yearly, or monthly basis that fall into the 4 categories above.

Big question is not how you get better at your weaknesses, as you'll get a bunch of strong weaknesses.

Instead, focus on WHO you know that can do those things - not how you can get better at doing them yourself.

This boils down to value of your time: if you are doing the less valuable things, then there is an opportunity cost for your most valuable activities. The assumption is that your most valuable activities 'reach the point of sale' - where all value is redeemed.
