#Mount the carriage side, motor side, and idler side. Tighten idler side, keep motor side loose.
 
#Now fit the entire axis on frame, sliding the motor side out so the clips can be attached.
#Assemble idler side.
#Fit motor side, and tighten motor side. Motor side can't be tightened once motor is in place.  
#Mount idler side on bottom of frame, with nuts next to frame.
#Loosen and take off idler side - just take out the rods. So that the axis can be removed.
#Assemble carriage side.
#With axis removed, mount motor fully on the axis.
#Open idler side, keeping it mounted on frame. This will allow fitting of axis to it.
#Replace axis on frame
#Mount motor side on rods, keep loose.
#Tighten down the idler side.
#Fit motor side to frame, hanging it on the top of the frame, and adjusting rod lengths so they are slightly above the working surface.
#Take off axis, mount motor, tighten motor side fully.

Bed

Z Axis

  1. Assemble idler side.
  2. Mount idler side on bottom of frame, with nuts next to frame.
  3. Assemble carriage side.
  4. Open idler side, keeping it mounted on frame. This will allow fitting of axis to it.
  5. Mount motor side on rods, keep loose.
  6. Fit motor side to frame, hanging it on the top of the frame, and adjusting rod lengths so they are slightly above the working surface.
  7. Take off axis, mount motor, tighten motor side fully.
