Basics
Living Machines (LM) are water treatment systems using living plants, duplicating the way water is cleaned in natural ecosystems. They recycle waste water up to drinking quality. In cold climates, they should be housed in a greenhouse. This is one avenue for handling all human organic waste. The notable feature is possibility of integrating living machines with food production - and obtaining drinking water at the same time.
