I use OSX & Ubuntu by preference, Windows when I have to.

I'd read about utilities that can change an ISO to be "hybrid" bootable from both an optical drive and from a memory stick. The command is "isohybrid", is part of the "syslinux" package and is described here:

Ok, did you try the USB installation script described in the documentation?
cd /media/<user>/<USB-stick-name>/boot
sudo ./Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com

Ok, did you try the USB installation script described in the documentation?

cd /media/<user>/<USB-stick-name>/boot
sudo ./Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com
