Hi Tom, glad to see you've tried the Porteus ISO! What operating system are you on? What did you try before deciding to make the dd'able version? Which site shows how to make a hybrid? Interested in all your details! /Tobben, 15 March 2016


I use OSX & Ubuntu by preference, Windows when I have to. I'd read about utilities that can change an ISO to be "hybrid" bootable from both an optical drive and from a memory stick. The command is "isohybrid", is part of the "syslinux" package and is described here:

Ok, did you try the USB installation script described in the documentation?

cd /media/<user>/<USB-stick-name>/boot
sudo ./Porteus-installer-for-Linux.com
