Housing is expensive. Did you know that in 2013 the average price of a new home was $400,000? (Research average mortgage costs) This doesn't count financing - if you get a mortgage - or pay until death - you would be paying twice that. (Research this)
Housing is the single largest cost of living - out of food, clothing, transportation. It's about 60- 70℅. Did you know that an avg American spends $1.2M over their entire life just to pay for housing, food, clothing, and transport? These are hljust basics - not counting anythinhlg else you want to do with your life.
This doesn't have to be.
First, subdivision land is expensive, $70k on average per house lot. There are many lots you can get if you don't get prime subdivision Dev land , urban or rural - that are $10k - or free in many blighted areas - such as KC or Detroit.
Theme there are other fees... Let's look at the actual costs of a house. That is the design and construction. The largest part of that is construction costs - $270k - and design is $15k on average.
Our solution is the debt free, open source Seed Home. It can be built incrementally. Start with a core for $7k in materials for a 200 SF starter seed with all utilities included, and excavation/grading done. Bobcat operator per day is $500-$1000 if you wet hire - as little as $200 per day if you rent and transport your own bobcat.
