Some quick searching and i found these:
- A 2015 Study Titled "A comparative study on the efficiency of ozonation and coagulation–flocculation as pretreatment to activated carbon adsorption of biologically stabilized landfill leachate"
- A 2020 Paper Titled "Recent advances in ozone-based advanced oxidation processes for treatment of wastewater- A review"
Seems like they fall under the term Advanced Oxidation Process ( AOPs ), so that term may be a helpful keyword in future searches
I might make a quick page on that
So guessing:
mesh/sand filter -> ozone pre-treatment -> (Activated-) Carbon Absorber (another neat term there, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Adsorption) (would this need a filter afterwards as well?) -> Final germicidal ozonator/or uv lamp -> (optional) chlorine doser -> final use as potable water
is the workflow? Kind of a modification of that existing one (or rearrangement of *modules* )
Also trying to fit recovery of the heavy metals in there somewhere (rather than just Landfilling the "spent" (activated-) carbon, or Filter Cake ) although not certain about how that would be done. Also use cases, short of mercury vacuum pumps / mercury vacuum tubes / mercury thermometers / mercury electrodes (all mostly obsolete uses due to mercury being a hazmat, and safer alternatives existing), what all can it be used for?
