Ceiling 1st

  • Observe subfloor joists. Sand or caulk any final defects.
  • 310 shellac the bottom edges where needed
  • 45 degree shellac 515 into corners
  • Right angle to subfloor
  • Right angle to bottom vertical of joists.

Thus, pattern is 5 passes per bay for 4 feet of surface, not counting 310 of bottom edges. 5 passes is just right on the conservative side, if each pass is actually counted as 6" wide effective width accounting for overlap. If effective width is 6, the number of passes would actually be 8.

Alt procedure:

  • 45 degree on the bottom
  • Bulk joist face
  • Corner
  • 3 underside of subfloor
  • Same on other side - corner, bulk face, bottom of joist.

This is actually 9 passes. Maybe cut the 3 on underside to 2.

Side issues:

  • going over doors, close them
  • Tight space of bath - use ladder to see last joist?
  • Above laundry and fridge - get on ladder to reach
  • Clean with ammonia, then water - transition with water to ammonia bucket, then transition from water bucket to paint bucket

Walls

  • Check the masking.
  • Spray! All of first floor 515.
  • Tight spots - no extension, 517 quick couple gun
