Cyanoacrylate Glue

Problem Statement

• Gluing rubber, such as EPDM.
• Contact cement works on EPDM - [1]. Customer says this is 'closest to ideal' for EPDM on metal [2]
• DAP 234 is essentially toluene, hexane, acetone with some dissolved rubber.
• Dissolved rubber is polychlorinated rubber, the thing of rubber paint [3]

Types of Glues

• Structural acrylic glues work - Permabond TA4605 and Permabond TA4610 structural acrylic adhesives - [4]

AKA Crazy Glue

• Does not work well because it will stick, but contraction will easily break the glue - [5]
• Use rubbery solvent glues.

EPDM Solvents

• N-hexane, toluene. Benzene, pentane. Toluene is best [8]
