This refers to the Degeneracy of production results - such that independent manufacturers in different parts of the world produce items with an identical UPC!

This is currently not allowed: each company has unique UPCs for its products.

However, Truly Replicable Production would enable, by using open source parameters and g-codes - any distinct Open Source Microfactory which follows the Open Source Microfactory Standard - would be able to produce an identical product with identical quality control - to within permissible standards.
