Global Village Construction Set - a set of machines and institutions required to build a small scale civilization with modern comforts. Note that the original formulation included 50 machines, the GVCS Proper. However, the mission of OSE was expanded to include an institution construction set, having realized that material prosperity is only a small part of human prosperity - as in Maslow's Hierarchy. Institutions involve abstract concepts, such as manufacturing, freedom, education, etc - and OSE intends to develop a blueprint for civilization that builds upon all human knowledge. The claim is to create paradise, such as that promised by humanists, demagogues, and religions alike - so in this sense this is nothing new. The new part is an honest attempt at execution, over a period of at least 60 years, or 3 generations. The current concept involves the introduction of open collaboration as a norm in society, which is feared and shunned by mainstream enterprise, at the same time as it is the progressives' unobtainium.
