Did you ever want to design or build something, but did not know where to start?

We've created an immersion program to answer this exact question. If you want to build the world around you - and bring collaborative design to your community - this program may be for you.

It's a deep immersion - 4 days of collaborative design and build training - followed by 5 days where we all develop a real product.

But how is this possible? First, we're not working alone. The January event is our first trilateral event - happening in 3 physical locations at the same time: Belgium, Virginia, and Texas. Second, we build opon open source part libraries and a modular design approach where we can modify things like legos.

We all collaborate via the internet, and learn how to do so effectively by using 100% open source and accessible toolchains.

On the first day, we build a simple 3D printer - D3D Simple - that we use during the rest of the Camp for rapid prototyping. We will build a simple CNC mill on the second day, which we will use in building an Arduino microcontroller from scratch.

While these are all small prototyping and education machines - they are fully scalable to larger and more powerful ones. The D3D Simple printer can print parts for our professional grade printer. The D3D Simple can also print parts for a CNC torch table, and the Universal Controller that we use is readily upgraded to run the larger machines. So if you know how to build the small ones and control them with the open source controller - you can ready apply this to much larger machines, such as a heavier duty CNC mill.
