Community Orchard

Basics
- A small Orchard that is Collectively Owned / Collectively Managed by the community
- Usually works on (mostly?) Volunteer Labor
- The resulting food is usually given to Food Banks and/or distributed amongst the community
Backround
- Typically if one family/obuilding on a street in a suburb has a Citrus Tree the group has more oranges etc than they know what to do with a few days to a week or so into Harvest Season
- Thus usually the whole street, and friends of the group often share the harvest of that one tree
- If one were to plant 3-10 Trees Alongside a Community Garden this would make labor easier, while still allowing for Local Food
- Also trees can provide shade/shelter for certain crops (See Agroforestry )

To-Do
- Determine Minimal Tree Spacing / Optimal Tree Spacing
- Determine Varieties and their:
- Pollenation Charachteriestics
- Optimal Enviroments (Soil, Sun, etc)
- Yeild
- Based of off the analysis of on-site space of Potential Projects Near "User: Eric" determine a good layout for potential community orchards
Internal Links
- Hazle (Need to see where this grows, along with other nut trees, as these can make valuable foodstuffs)
