Compost contains significant amounts of undegraded biomass, some of which can be transformed into food for humans or animals. Examples are vermicomposting and the production of black soldier flies. With a sufficient amount of compostable biomass input, a farm could theoretically focus entirely on the production of foodstuffs from compost as a business model (products: compost, fish/chicken food.
