Oxy-Fuel Combustion Process

Basics
- Industrial Combustion (For heating, gassification, or other processes) that uses pure oxygen for oxidiser
- Thus nitrogen dioxides are near impossible
- Also reduces exhaust/flue gas volume
- Depending on if the fuel contains sulfur compounds or heavy metals, almost pure carbon dioxide and water vapor result
- The water can be condensed leaving near pure carbon dioxide for use in CO2 Enrichment, Industrial Use (Chemical Reactant, Woking Fluid, Carbonation etc), or for Carbon Capture and Storage workflows
- Main methods are:
- Chemical Looping Combustion
- Pressure Swing Absorbtion optimised for oxygen concentration (especially nitrogen removal, other gasses would mainly just lower oxygen/volume levels but not react (argon, xenon, etc)
