Swarm Development refers to the development of goods, services, and other experiences - which follows the following properties in the OSE context:
- It aims for the accomplishment of tasks at a scale that would otherwise be impossible without involving large numbers of people.
- It contains incentives which provide a clear motivation to people, such as BHAGs described in the book on crowd development - Bold
- It aims for unlimited scalability, restrained only by the Kardashev Scale at the cosmic level. It starts at the scale of human enterprise, powered by human engagement and automation.
- It is a social process, in that people are inspired by communion with others, while achieving impressive tasks
