Value Concept

  • First example of open collaborative hardware development that scales while remaining open
  • First human settlement that transcends artificial scarcity. Rigorous definition of scarcity, in simple terms - storytelling.
  • First implementation of a Lifelong Learning Environment on the scale of a modern economy.
  • First renewable energy industrial system for the production of important industrial feedstocks. Solar silicon, semiconductors, solar steel, solar concrete, lumber, solar hydrogen, and bioplastic.
  • First example of bootstrapped industrial economy that can be replicated inexpensively anywhere in the world. Bootstrapped via collaborative development of a few key enterprises (house, car, drone, etc)
  • First example of integrated (experiential + rapid + Flexible Cognitive Theory) learning that combines problem-solving R&D (first principles thinking), solving fundamental world problems, collaborative-open product development, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
  • Replication mechanism is via investment from seasoned entrepreneurs who are interested in Transformative Enterprise.
  • Village scale and curriculum focuses around building a village. Hot metal, solar concrete, silicon, solar hydrogen, PV, machines, ag, precision fab, 3D printing, psychology + mental models (thinking).

Key Challenges

Integrated skill sets and mind sets are the main obstacle. RLI - Rapid Learning Infrastructures - are the key enabler. The Tower of Wisdom can be used for Rapid Learning. The actual builders must be industrial artisans. This is not scalable without creating these Five Legged Dogs.

  • The engineer must learn other disciplines.
  • The researcher must gain a hunger for applications.
  • The entrepreneur must get thirsty for fundamental transformation
  • The builder must open their mind to diverse skills through Flexible Cognitive Theory
  • The coder must learn to build things
  • Everyone must learn to collaborate.

Numbers

  • Feasibility starts with solar energy at 450 WHr/liter for lithium ion batteries. 450kWhr/m3. Tesla car 85 kWhr bat is 200W/kg [1] Or 300 WHr/kg. Or 425 or 300 kg of dead weight.
  • Hydrogen is 23 kg/m3 [2] and 33kWhr/kg [3] Or 750 kWhr/m3 at 350 Atm.
  • 1000 lb 'gas tank' cannot compare with a 100 lb hydrogen tank.
