Abridged version of FBA Build Fundamentals, in pertinent part -

  • Tool recognition and use - 25 top power tools, 25 top hand tools
  • Build concept: mental visualization practice
  • Blueprints, measuring, marking, cutting
  • Materials and fasteners recognition
  • Tool-material handling. Portable tool vs portable station vs fixed. Same for materials.
  • Tool fixing - how to unstick, repair power cords, replace handles, replace bits, sharpen bits, and otherwise fix things.
  • Organization and Cleanup protocol - garbage cans, sweep, empty tool belt, recover fasteners into original containers, stow bits, stow tools, charge batteries
    • Battery Master - makes sure all batteries are charged and replaced
    • Tool master - verifies all tools are back in place, breakage marked. Broken items placed in Repair Bay.
    • Materials master - puts away all materials into source piles in Hangar. Marks material storage areas with hung labels
    • Recycling and Garbage master - recycles everything,
    • Tool fixer - welds broken tools, mends handles, power cords, and all other Breakage in Breakage Bay.
  • Heavy materials handling: jack, pry, lever, ratchet, worm, winch, planetary. Wheels, rollers, pallet jack, dolly, cart, skid steer, telehandler.

  • Cutless Design
  • ability to use Design Guides and to create Part Libraries.
  • Ability to make new designs using up to 20' clear spans using automated CAD design
  • Marking, cutting, assembly, QC basics
  • Lines - chalk, strung, squaring trigonometry.
  • Materials recognition - how to identify 100 materials
  • Tool recognition -/how to identify and decode 100/toils that you never used before
  • Cutting tool types - blades (through vs ablate), friction, laser, ablation, powder, impact, leverage, scrape. Teeth types from backhoe to insertable. Carbiding, hardening. Router, annular, boring bar
