About

Design Guides are critical assets required for the transition of civilization to responsible stewardship. Plagued by morale and existential issues - perceived and possibly real - humanity is in need of purpose, meaning, and inspiration to chart a regenerative course. Part of this is understanding and rebuilding the world around us - which starts with understanding how things work, how to design favorable qualities, and how to build - whether this refers to physical artifacts, innovation, organizations, or infrastructures for civilization. Design Guides cover the design part. We favor robust, modular, lifetime design based on abundant and available local resources. Design Guides focus on design languages based on common, proven, and optimized parts and components. Modularity, [[Scalability], and Abundance are some of the critical features of the product ecosystem, and the economic aim is injecting Open Sector capacity for the sake of everyone's prosperity, based on Abundant Resources.

Machine Design Guides refer specifically to the design of product ecosystems involving machines - including the entirety of the Technosphere.

2019 Introduction

This is a Machines for Poets immersion crash courses on design, to be presented at the Open Source Microfactory STEAM Camp. If you would like the hands-on practice that goes with this learning, join us at our site for the physical event - or participate remotely to help in the actual design that we will build. We teach you the design skills and FreeCAD so you can build just about any machine. http://bit.ly/2Vj5o1Z
