Basics

Uses

Food

  • Think of any time you used Lemon Zest or Lemon Juice etc
  • Although also Orange Juice / Lemonade / Limeaid etc
  • Also in a Confectionary Context, Citric Acid in a CONCENTRATED form and/or blotted onto a different powder is used for Sour Candies/Powders and such (Think “Sour Patch Kids” and “Warheads” etc)

In Soaps

  • It can be used in lower amounts as a PH Buffer
  • In larger amounts it can work as a Chelation Agent
  • Related concepts are some of those Citrus Based Degreasers
    • User: Eric here, i have hands on experience of using that stuff on an Asphalt Tanker Ship which had a hose burst and got ALL OVER the deck. The stuff took a while, but worked fine and was waaaaaaaay “nicer” than Caustic Degreaser or a Solvent etc
      • It didn’t burn much/at all, and only smelled of oranges
