Does it Work?
'Does it work?' is the core of our global problemsolving methodology. Anyone - or especially those familiar - can tell if an institution works or is functional towards tldelivering a democratic and liberal world order - ie, does the institution stand the test of time.
There are basic questions that many people can answer to determine if an institution works.
Whom does it serve? Does it serve its intended original purpose? Who of the beneficiaries benefits most? What are the externalities? Does it work in harmony with other institutions? Does it serve basic human needs and aims, such as health, prosperity, and purpose? Is it transparent? Is it effective? Is it efficient? Is it affordable? Is it accessible? Does it discriminate in its intended audience? How is it compromised? What important elements is it missing? Does it benefit everyone? Is it corrupt? Does it follow clearly defined standards and best practices? Is it outdated, based on principles no longer relevant? Who is benefitting in an excessive way? Who is underserved? Is it's practice healthy and integrated, or alienating and deadly? Are people in general happy with it, or does it have to go?
Many people can contribute to such discourse as a first step to transforming all known institutions to more benign forms. The OSE Forum will engage in such discussion.
