Plans

User: Eric’s Smaller Scale/Initial One

  • Thinking mainly:
    • Plywood Box
      • Held Together with Pre-Drilled Holes + Self Tapping Nice Screws (preferably torx or square bit)
      • Preferably Wood Glue as well, although if that seals insufficiently, some sort of Caulking on the seams may be required
    • Uncertain if i want the lid at a sort of Ergonomic Slant, or if i want it Flat
    • If doing a Velocity Stack style sanded chamfer for each of the holes may also be worth it
    • If any sort of aerodynamic structures inside the box, as opposed to having the suction holes go into a square 90 box may also be worth considering
    • Walls going above the downdraft surface’s sides may be nice
    • Masking Tape or Plugs (Potentially FDM 3D Printed) can be used to block off unnecessary suction holes on larger downdraft tables to increase suction at the ones near the part (if designed correctly)
    • FOR A VERSION ONE THOUGH, having it just be a box with holes in the lid, and a Cam Lock/ Shop Vac hose standard connection on the side is probably good enough
