- Immediate discoverability of license and content. OSE currently uses an Infobox and Template:Dev, an example of which can be seen at D3D v20.04.27.
- OSHWA and OSI compliance of all parts under the author's control. Partial compliance is an indication that economic freedom is not granted.
- Author's awareness of the Distributive Enterprise concept, and pledge to endorse the concept in practice.
- Willingness to collaborate in 24 Hour Hackathons for creating real products.
