Basics

  • Delta 3D Printers are useful as they use all 3 motors for each movement
  • If 3 are good, why not use more (assuming cost doesnt matter

  • I use the term 3D Printer, but in theory this could be applied to any CNC Axis Machine
  • (To the best of User: Eric's knowledge + low level searching this hasn't really been explored. It may not work due to weight, or be not much of an improvement, but it is worth a look

Pentagonal Printers

  • A Pentagonal Printer has one axis on each of it's five sides

Decagonal Printers

  • This design is the same as a pentagonal printer, but with 10 sides each with an axis
  • This the ability of the motor/axis is multiplied by 10
  • Would be quite pricey, yet would be thouroughly redundant and possibly faster
  • Weight may become an issue
