Using A Laser to burn and/or melt materials partially to engrave them with images or text
Can be of use for packaging, as ink/paper may not be required for labels
Also Part Version and other information can physically be on the part without adding physical features like a Relief etc which may affect performance
- Laser Engraving is much faster than CNC Engraving etc too so it may also make sense merely from a Production Engineering standpoint
