Basics

Utility in a Construction Environment

  • Extremely useful in Construction/Walkarounds as instead of this situation:
    • "So about that spot where you wanted that emergency light" "The one there?" "No a bit up" over there...and so on
    • Or there is some mess of pipes/Conduit/Free-wired Cables/HVAC Ducts and so on and saying "so that one" (Even if pointing, even with a Tape Measure as a Pointer ) is still obscenely vague
  • You basically just click on the thing and all can see it
  • Only downside is needing to grab it, but if in a flashlight combo it is a decent thing to have jammed in pockets or on a Toolbelt so isn't too big of a burden
  • GRANTED using a Tape Measure as a Pointer and/or just using the cone of a flashlight's light can work for the most part
  • At least that's my Biased opinion after that painful renovation job with a PILE of Change Orders !
  • Can also be used to play with cats (At least ones that don't see through the smoke and mirrors lol)

    • This is the one i have, works pretty good
    • Only complaints are:
      • Despite it deceptively looking like a USB-C charging port, it still uses Micro-USB Not horrible, but disappointing
      • Only 2 Dimming Settings for the Light (Fine in most settings, but if used to light up the area above an Access Panel or the Junction Box / 4 Square Box right inside next to a Can Light it can be a bit bright and burns battery faster (Although compared to my Milwaukee Headlamp it has GREAT battery life)
      • The Anodization (if it isn't just paint) scratches pretty easily
      • It gets it's dust-proof certification by a flexible cover, not a rigid latching hatch, which has already fallen off and can pop out easily
      • There isn't an easy way to remove the Rechargeable Battery which will make repair and/or disposal more difficult (Hasn't stopped holding a charge as of this edit at least)
    • All in all it was around 20 USD at the local Home Depot so well worth it in my opinion
