On the Long Term Maitnence of IMCs

Basics

• these are typically made of Steel
• Thus they can Rust
• This can be maintained in early phases/small instances, however one larger visible holes appear, the best option is most likely to scrap the container and get another

Preventative Measures

Metal Coatings

• Most if not all IMCs use some sort of Metal Protective Coating
• This is most often Galvanization, Paint, Powder Coating, or some combination/variation of these

Cathodic Protection

• As well as galvanization, standalone Cathodic Protection can be used

Maitnence

• Sand off rust
• Repaint when neccisary
