Talk:OSE Specifications Metric Score
I recommend OSE specs use a Likert scale, a format in which responses are scored along a range. [1]
"When responding to a Likert questionnaire item, respondents specify their level of agreement or disagreement on a symmetric agree-disagree scale for a series of statements."
Having five options of "Stongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, strongly disagree" provides a more nuanced, some would say more accurate, scale, compared to a simple binary "yes / no" scale.
The Likert Scale provides even more accurate assessment when respondents are given two other options, "Decline to respond" and "Does not apply", as proposed by Richard Spady, who has further improved on the science of questionnaires. [2]
