Talk:Ozone Resistance of Various Materials
My main thoughts with this are:
- A bin with a pile of ozone in it is an effective, cheap, and relitively simple method to disinfect things
- Can even work with fabrics etc
- Main issue is, some materials (especially some plastics) get messed up in various ways by ozone
- With our covid 19 efforts it seems like this, UV light, some sort of alchohol/other liquid, or something complex are our only options as i think most non "insane engineering plastics" plastics can't withstand an autoclave
- As someone mentioned in the video, boiling may work, but i am unsure on it's full effectiveness (i know some things can stick around)
- Also boiling may not fit into their workflow well (They don't have the supplies, stations, or time)
- UV can also be problematic, and most likely isn't optimal, as it can't get into cracks etc (check me on this may be less of an issue)
- Also if they have gamma ray/x ray/electron beam sterilization that may work but will require some research of it's own
