OSE is developing Distributive Enterprise. See our Critical Path.

The enterprise around the 3D printer feeds into the OSE Incentive Challenge,

1. We have good initial evidence of optimized ergonomics of production leading to 12 quality controlled 3D printer kits built per day. 2. We sell kits at $300 above the bill of materials cost, which is currently $550 or so. 4 .We produce the quality controlled kits day1, day 2 we pack and ship them, day 3 we spend on marketing, and day 4 we provide customer support. Thus, for a set of 12 kits, we spend 4 full days on the full chain from production to fulfillment. 5. Revenue above is $3600 for 4 days of work. 6. Done 3 times per month, that is $10k revenue - about half of full time work.

Now we have not done this yet - this is what we think is possible and we are working on it now.

There is also no free lunch here. This is for ambitious entrepreneurs who are willing to invest the time in developing an integrated skill set to execute the above. The amount of time will vary based on the mindset and skillset of the entrepreneur. We think this is scalable and teachable, as the 3D printing market is growing rapidly.
