Basics
- A technology mainly used in Robotics (Especially Autonomous Robots and Semi-Autonomous Robots) ), Self Driving Vehicles and some Semi-Self Driving Vehicles, AR, MR, and for some VR designs
- Does Two Things at Once:
- Localization : Where the object/device is in relation to it's enviroment in the present
- Mapping : Makes a map of the enviroment, usually a [Point Cloud]] , and stores this for data logging, and for future route planning and obsticle avoidance
