Universal Burner Unit

Basics

• A Collection of all combustion devices, and associated equipment
• Used for any sort of permanent / semi-permanent installation
• Mainly electrical power, hot water, and perhaps steam will be produced
• Compressed fluids (Air, Gasses, Hydraulic Fluid, Water) may be possible via coupling pumps to the shafts
• Allows for use of any fuel:
  • Biomass
  • Liquid Fuels
  • Gaseous Fuels
• Also modular and upgradable
• Also integrates exhaust treatment which prevents pollution (not too much of a concern if only one person uses ose designs, but if widespread adoption... (also commercial/industrial use may mandate this) )
• More complex than most needs, but the OSE Dream Home and perhaps small commercial/industrial uses could benefit from it
• Page, Concept, and even the title still a work in progress FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED

Rudimentary Componets

Biomass Processing

Two Stage Grinder

• This is so ANYTHING burnable and roughly celluloisitc can be "thrown" in, ie no pre clipping/reducing needed (short of log size...)
• Open Source Shredder
• Open Source Garbage Disposal

Charcoal Pellet Production

• Open Source Continous Charcoal Production Device
• Open Source Charcoal Powderizer
• Open Source Charcoal Powderizer
• Perhaps add removal hoppers at each stage? not needed really, but may be nice for refueling small mobile devices

Charcoal Burner

• Open Source Hydronic Stove this will be the "phase one" use (Perhaps move the heat exchanger etc?)
• Open Source Fluidised Bed Combustor this will be the "phase two" use

Gas/Liquid Burners

• Open Source Turbogenerator used for burning gasses ( RCNG and perhaps Hydrogen ) , and liquid fuels
• Open Source Boiler and/or Open Source Steam Superheater ?

Heat Recovery and Reuse

• Universal Heat Exchanger (or multiple if doing gas-liquid AND liquid-liquid) feeding
  • Air preheating
  • Seccondary steam generator/pre heater
• THEN TEGs for the last little bit of extractable heat

Exhaust Processing

• Car Catalytic Converter
• If feeling extra fancy, perhaps an Air Scrubber of some sort, although this leads to liquid and/or solid waste which may be hard to process?
• Piping into a Carbon Dioxide Enrichment system, Compressed Carbon Dioxide use for pnuematics, chemistry, and drink carbonization?

Misc

• "Turbocharger" for compressing air for improved combustion in all devices
  • May not be needed if compressed air is already adequait, or if this is unneccisary
• Oxygen Concentrator PSA ? for Oxy-Fuel Combustion ?
• Hot water tank and/or solar pre-heater
• Optional steam input from external sources like solar thermal

• Gasous fuels (Mainly RCNG and Hydrogen , but liquid fuel fumes, propane, lpg etc can be used as well

• Electricity (Unprocessed 3 Phase Electric? Essentially whatever comes off the generator(s) )
• Potentially Via Hopper and/or Output tube/auger:
  • Shredded Dry Biomass
  • Charcoal Powder
  • Charcoal Pellets
