Basics

Cost

  • Gallon of Ethanol Free Gasoline cost:
  • 2-Stroke Oil
    • This gets a bit more complex as there are many choices for this; it is much less like conventional automotive engines where you either choose the OEM Oil, or go all out and get the Full Synthetic Lubricating Oil at that listed “spec” (such as 10W-30W etc)
  • 2-Stroke oil is a bit more complex in all that.
    • [Castor Oil]] “gunks things up” a bit, but this enhancement of the seal can create more power.
      • This is common in Dirt Bike Motorsports and other “racing engines” where long term reliability may not matter as much since they will be rebuilt after each race, BUT any extra power is desired
    • CITATION NEEDED, but probably less of an Additives Package (or none altogether) due to Total Loss Lubrication inherently burning oil, compared to conventional 4-Stroke Oil
  • ALL IN ALL could probably do several priced mixes:
    • Cheapest 2-Stroke Oil on Amazon/Home Depot’s Website
    • Best Selling 2-Stroke Oil
    • Top Rated 2-Stroke Oil / Stihl OEM etc

Potential Advantages

  • To the homeworker/person not doing landscaping as a team etc, this product makes no sense vs the cost/complexity of mixing in a bit of 2-Stroke Oil into some Ethanol Free Gasoline
    • Especially with many brands selling their oil in bottles with integrated means of measuring+pouring it
  • While some of the sales are of course going go be the result of marketing INVENTING a need / convincing people other fuel is inferior, much of the main advantage is not this
  • The advantage arrises from a Management perspective:
    • Self Mixing Requires it being done correctly, and depending on Personnel Training , it may not be done right
      • While this MAY not do anything if too much is added (unless components get especially gummed up), if NOT ENOUGH is added it could destroy equipment due to loss of lubrication
      • The more difficult solution to this is to either ‘’’train+trust your employees’’’ / develop clear systems to make the process go smoothly (Color Coded/HAZCOM containers etc), it is far easier to buy the (slightly more expensive) pre-mix fuel and not do any sort of actual management or systemic improvements
        • If it is on a company/government card too, some types will not care about waste etc

Math

  • TruFuel is sold in 110floz cans

  • 1 Gallon of Ethanol Free Gasoline will vary in price due to location/current gas prices etc
    • AAA Fuel Tracker doesn’t currently track the cost of Ethanol Free Gasoline or E-85 etc

    • $3.650 as of this edit / gallon, with regular E-10 at $2.856, and (the somewhat useless) Midgrade at $3.318 (according to AAA, in the Florida market)
