This page gives you all the information you need to make your CEB Press from stock steel and parts. First, obtain all of the items listed in the Bill of Materials. Then consult the Cut List and cut all steel to size. From there, fabricate the individual parts and assemblies by following the steps listed under Fabrication. Finish mechanical assembly by completing the steps in the Assembly section. Once the machine is completed mechanically, make the electronic components and install them. Follow the procedures listed in the testing section to integrate the mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics.
Mechanical Components
Fabrication
Note: All make pages need a BOM for steps.
Structural Components
- Simple Plates
- Frame structural support components-Still needs fab drawings
Soil Loading System
Shaker
- Shaker Mount-Still needs fab drawings
- Shaker Hammer and Shaft-Still needs fab drawings, model
- Shaker Hydraulics
Hopper and Grate
- Hopper and Grate Supports
- Hopper Sheet Metal-Still needs fab drawings
- Hopper Mounting plate
- Grate-Still needs fab drawings
Machine Core
Main Frame
Main Frame Preparation
- Wide Cylinder Supports
- Main Frame Small Components
- Main Frame U-Channel Prep-Still needs fab drawings
Main Cylinder Preparation
Main Frame Assembly
- Assemble U Channel
- Fit the Main Cylinder
- Stretch the frame
- Weld the spacers
- Install Small Components
- Fit the Drawer Members
Still need to be added in MAKE:
Assembly
Before beginning assembly, insure you have finished all of the components listed above in the fabrication step.
- Assemble the structural components
- Assemble the Soil Loading System
- Shaker Assembly -Still needs fab drawings, model
- Adjust the Drawer
- Install the secondary cylinder
- Hard-line the main cylinder
Programming
An Arduino is the microprocessor that controls the CEB Press's actions. It must be programmed with the CEB Press's unique program for making bricks.
