Basics
- The Waste of water (Typically Potable Cold Water and Potable Heated Water)
- Perhaps seperate pages for lab distilled/double distilled/DI water?
- Perhaps an agriculturally focused page?
Causes
Convenience/Negligence
- Leaving the faucet/sprayer in between tasks (Such as when brushing teeth, or moving about the kitchen)
- Leaving a shower running longer to generate steam
Maitnence
- Leaky Pipes/Valves
Design
- Inneficient Faucets/Showerheads/Toilets etc
- Having to let water run to acheive a certain temperature
Solutions
Convenience/Negligence
- Automatic Faucets
- PSAs
Maitnence
- Check pipes for leaks
- Check toilet flappers for leaks
Design
- Automatic Faucets
- Install Faucet Aerators on all faucets (except perhaps utility sinks that demand high flow rate)
- Install more efficient shower heads
- Use Multi mode Faucets and Showerheads
- Install higher efficiency toilets and dual flush designs
- Seperate Temperature and Flow Controlls
- Either a Highly Insulated Hot Water Heater, or an Instant Hot Water Heater
- Using nozzles on hoses to prevent constant flow when not needed
- Using Pool Tarps/Covers to reduce evaporation and/or use indoor pools (This also helps withn heat loss in the winter)
- Reuse Grey Water
