Basics

  • Pyrolysis via an entrained flow of the fuel (typically in a Slurry or powder that is sprayed in) and oxidiser (typically oxygen and/or steam, but air can be used (this will lead to NOx emissions to deal with, and may make controls more complicated
  • Can be used to pre-treat a Biomass and/or RDF Slurry into a Charcoal Slurry ready for "single step" (ie charcoal gasssification, with no other processes needed in that step) Gasification
