Basics

• This page is largely going to be a rant/op ed (ALBEIT with plans, not just bringing up problems with no suggested solutions!), so keep that in mind
• HOWEVER feel free to fix typos etc, or chime in, discussion/brainstorming is appreciated

Background

• In the process of bringing up going to the OSE Apprenticeship etc, i had to kind of explain what it was
• Granted i wasn’t prepped either, so that lack of an Elevator Pitch (being tired from work ( Burnout from my current job is kicking in BIG TIME, plus if i just came off of an intense job (lots of shoveling/wearing a tyvek in a tank etc) i don’t have physical energy either) sure didn’t help

  • As of what i gathered from their input…they see me working at ose as about as logical of a decision as Running Off to Join the Circus…not great

• Past Issues (They didn’t say where they read it, but sounded like some people having bad experiences (I’m guessing in the early days where there wasn’t much FeF Infrastructure ) )
• Current Money (or Lack Thereof)
  • Mentioned some form, 501c i think? (The Non-Profit Form Thing) and extrapolated that to mean “They Wouldn’t Have the Money to Pay You” etc

Potential Counterpoints

• Editorializing here, but i think much of the “Past Issues” problem is just due to their not being much information coming out of the Events/FeF as a whole (CAD Files and amazing projects notwithstanding)
  • While i do think EPCOTification / Focusing so much kn updates/filming that an otherwise great project gets turned into Trash Reality TV are VALID concerns, i think also that PR transforms into bot Funds and Legitimacy/ Social Currency
• The Point of Money is a ‘’bit’’ more concerning
  • First things first i can catch up on reading up on that myself
  • Secondly there is a case to be made for Build it and They Will Come to be considered
    • GRANTED charlatans using the whole “oh it’s like buying stock in apple before they were big, THEY Started in a garage too” (which i think was a bit of a fake story in of itself) is a common theme in today’s world so some proper data needs to be gathered to support that argument, but at least as a working adult who has seen: Education (by being in it as a student/apprentice), Construction, Environmental Services, and Industrial Work etc…there ABSOLUTELY IS POTENTIAL for improvement/overhaul. Revolutionary even, but it all is a matter of funds and Herding Cats
    • Looking into Business Loans , another Crowdsourcing Round/Project, or even just more PR and thus more Patreon / Real Fans (or whatever the name was) donations is another option
    • Looking into hard data on profit per project and on-contract or potential planned projects is another aspect of this
