For the needs of open source OSE research, these open source tools are required:

  1. Raspberry Pi Tablet - for data acquisition, processing, and controls - using fully customizable microprocessor/computer system.
  2. Open Source Microscope
  3. Dial indicator
  4. Temperature and humidity logger
  5. Power Meter - for logging electrical power usage
  6. Oscilloscope
  7. Sensor systems - precision distance measurement (laser, IR, ultrasound)
  8. Ultrasound distance sensor
  9. X ray camera
  10. Basic spectrometer -
  11. Telehandler - remote control + Universal Axes
  12. Sound spectrum analyzer - for example, engine firing
  13. Smart Phone Tachometer - this is primarily technique. App needs opensourcing. Use crosspower spectra and averaging to do better with noise.
  14. Open Source Gene Sequencing
  15. Open Source MRI Machine
