Basics
- Also known as Lime (Chemical)
- Is turned into Calcium oxide in a Lime Kiln or in OSE's case a Biochar-Lime Co-production System or a Open Source Lime Kiln, and is thus an important precursor to cement and thus concrete

- Abundant yet nonrenewable
Shells
- Eggshels, Marine Animal Shells, and Snail Shells are all possible sources
- Bioleaching using the intentional farming of shelled marine life (Mussles, etc) is a possible route to explore
