About

A design approach for Zero Marginal Cost Economic Development focusing on robust, Degenerate modules in the context of Module-Based Design - enabling lego-like industrial productivity on a small scale.

The OSE approach involves a nominal 100kW (village scale) solar power system, feeding industrial processes such as Solar Steel, Solar Concrete, a quarry, 3D printing of thermoplastic construction materials, industrial hot metal processing (induction furnace) and precision machining.

The focus of Degenerate Modular Scalability is Extensive Scalability - zero marginal cost development of industrial, power, precision, material production, and other modules.

Examples

  • Machining - Universal Axis, XY Table, 3" shaft and chuck with feed-though, Granite Blocks
  • Industrial Power - scalable power cubes at 15 hp motor level, then open sourced with EFI for lifetime design.
