About

A design approach for Zero Marginal Cost Economic Development focusing on robust, Degenerate modules in the context of Module-Based Design - enabling lego-like industrial productivity on a small scale - focusing on degeneracy via Multipurpose Design.

The OSE approach involves a nominal 100kW (village scale) solar power system, feeding industrial processes such as Solar Steel, Solar Concrete, a quarry, 3D printing of thermoplastic construction materials, industrial hot metal processing (induction furnace) and precision machining.

The focus of Degenerate Modular Scalability is Extensive Scalability - zero marginal cost development of industrial, power, precision, material production, and other modules.

Examples

  • Machining and Digital Fabrication - Universal Axis, XY Table, 3" shaft and chuck with feed-though, Granite Blocks. Capable of 3D printers,
    • Example - 15 mm GT2 Belt scaled dual drive dual axis on each side = 4 axes with 8 x 15mm GT2 power transfer. Piggybacked - up to 16x the power transfer of 15 mm GT2 belt.
  • Industrial Power - scalable power cubes at 15 hp motor level, then open sourced with EFI for lifetime design. Practical route to 60 and 120 hp machines if optimized
  • 5 Minute Design
  • Integrated Design

Microexamples

  • 15 mm GT2 belt - max force trasnfer is 20 lb with 1G acceleration? Source [1]
