Barrel Jack

12 Volt

  • Most Common
  • Often Known as a Cigarette Lighter Port
  • Bulky Design, but Common

USB

Micro USB

  • Most Common (As of ~2019) mainly due to EU requirement for Electronic Devices
  • Lower Power Delivery Capability Than Some other Options
  • Not very durable

USB C

  • Becoming More Common
  • Can Move a Lot of power (See the USB C Page for More Specifics)
  • Quite Durable, and Hardened versions are available

Commercial

XLR

  • Durable, Usable Port, yet has other uses so may lead to accidental destruction of equipment

Scientific

Industrial

IEC 60309

  • Hardened
  • Rated to High Power Levels
  • Can Also Handle AC (which may also lead to accidental destruction of equipment)
